Project Brief & Key Features:    Located in Pretoria East, Moreleta park, the scope of work for the project included the new main auditorium with 7300 seats.  The roof has a clear span of 65 m to eliminate the use of any internal columns.  The two balcony levels are reinforced concrete structures cantilevering 7 m from the supporting columns to give an uninterrupted view to the auditorium and stage.  The administration block of 25 000 square meter floor plan is linked to the main auditorium with an aesthetic steel main staircase.  A nursery school and crèche buildings were added.  KBK performed the design and construction monitoring of RC Foundations, Structural steel roofs, Staircases, Structural canopies, Car ports, Walkways, RC structures, Civil services, Access roads, 3 100 parking bays and sports fields.
